Southwest Adventure Guides LLC (formerly Southwest Adventures) has been conducting domestic and international trips and courses since 1989. We are not a travel agent. We guide our own trips with our own staff and support networks. Our courses and trips run throughout the year. In the spring and summer months we conduct rock climbing, mountaineering, alpine climbing, backpacking, and mountain biking trips and courses in Southwest Colorado and Southeast Utah, as well as high altitude mountaineering expeditions and courses in Peru, Bolivia, and Alaska.

Pedal the Peaks has a long history in Southwest, Colorado. Beginning in 1992, Pedal the Peaks began servicing and selling top bicycle brands to racers and recreational riders. In 2004, longtime employee, Cliff Pinto took the operational reigns and vowed to continue the excellence in service and quality bike sales.

Sterling Lorence is arguably THE name in mountain bike photography. His stellar images routinely appear in all major industry publications, including numerous nods in Photo of the Year issues. Sterling has been very generous in helping Hermosa Tours with securing excellent photography for several of our tour pages.

The guides of Hermosa Tours spend quite a bit of the season battling the elements. Rain, hail, snow, wind and sun are all part of our job description. We are really happy to be outfitted with technical gear from Outdoor Research.

A passion for human powered adventure inspired the birth of Outdoor Research, an outdoor gear company based in Seattle, Washington. And 27 years later, this passion remains as strong as ever. In 1961, a 3-speed bicycle hub displayed at the New York Toy Show was the catalyst for what would eventually become Shimano American Corporation. The popularity of 20-inch wheeled bikes with hi-rise handlebars fueled a demand for multi-speed hubs and Shimano was producing an affordable and reliable version that caught the attention of the industry. So much so, that by 1965, Yoshizo Shimano, the youngest son of the company founder in Japan, opened an office in New York to get quicker product feedback and to provide technical and warranty assistance to retailers selling bikes equipped with Shimano parts.
