Kelli Emmett – Women’s Zion Weekend
Weekend Description

Kick-start your season and hone your mountain bike skills as spring blooms in Southwest Utah. You’ll learn from arguably one of the finest all-around female riders in professional mountain biking today, Kelli Emmett, all under the shadow of the soaring, colorful sandstone skyscrapers of the Zion National Park region.

This is an intermediate camp and women need to feel comfortable riding on singletrack and willing to challenge themselves on rocky surfaces. Rides will be anywhere from 2 to 3 hours long each day.

Day One: We will be meeting in St George bright and early, loading up and heading up to Gooseberry Mesa. We’ll start out easy on some of the practice areas and work on some skills: setup for perfect cornering, riding off drops, climbing up ledges and overall correct body positioning on the bike.

Day Two: After a healthy and tasty breakfast we’ll spend some time reviewing what we learned on Gooseberry Mesa on day one.

Our ride today will take us onto a classic area loop: Hurricane Rim>Gould’s Rim and finish down the JEM Trail. This desert singletrack loop has numerous unique features that make for excellent instruction and demonstration.

Day Three: Day three we put it all together for our epic ride: Little Creek Mesa. While Little Creek Mesa shares many characteristics of Gooseberry Mesa it maintains its own personality and stunning scenery. The first half of the ride is heavy on fun, flowing singletrack with long views toward the St George and the Arizona Strip. The second half of our ride will have us twisting and turning through a labyrinth of sandstone.
